AIRBUS Approval
for both FUCHS metalworking fluids ECOCOOL GLOBAL S 240 and PLANTOCUT 22 SR
In December 2021, we were informed by AIRBUS that our both metal working fluids PLANTOCUT 22 SR and ECOCOOL GLOBAL S 240 had been officially approved.
Both products are listed in the new version of AIRBUS Approval List AIPS 00-00-010 "List of authorized cutting fluids for drilling and machining operations".
ECOCOOL GLOBAL S 240 is excellent for wet machining of carbon fiber reinforced (CFRP) and glass fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP). PLANTOCUT 22 SR can be universally used as a minimum quantity lubricant (MQL) and cutting oil for machining.
ECOCOOOL GLOBAL S 240 is a fully synthetic water-miscible coolant and is used by AIRBUS for wet machining of CFRP on individual parts and assemblies (stacks).
PLANTOCUT 22 SR is an ester-based cutting oil used by AIRBUS for drilling applications on metallic assemblies made of aluminum, titanium, stainless steel (CRES) and copper alloys.
Interesting to know:
The use of components made of fiber-reinforced composites such as CFRP and GFRP is becoming increasingly important in automotive and aircraft construction, also in order to solve the actual discussion about energy and CO2 emissions. These new materials weigh significantly less than metals, because CFRP and GFRP are 30 percent lighter than aluminum alloys. The new AIRBUS A350 already consists of 52 percent fiber composites, significantly reducing weight and aviation fuel consumption. For these specific reasons, these materials are on the rise and metalworking fluids are needed for efficient machining.
