GLEITMO 165

Metallurgy-compatible hot thread paste

Performance Features

  • temperature range: -40 / +180°C (as dry lubricant up to 1,200 °C)
  • does not react with conventional screw materials
  • produces a constant clamping force
  • prevents seizure and sticking
  • facilitates loosening of hot screws
  • allows screws to be reused

Description

GLEITMO 165 is a solid lubricant paste with a grey-blue colour. A special synthetic oil provides GLEITMO 165 with excellent separating and lubricating characteristics across a very large temperature range with neutral behaviour with respect to conventional screw materials. The carrier oil it contains has a low evaporation tendency, i.e. GLEITMO 165 remains pasty until +180 °C. Above this temperature, the carrier oil gradually evaporates and leaves a dry lubricating film which remains effective up to +1,200 °C.

Field of application

Threaded connections, particularly in the field of high temperatures, such as in thermal power stations, the petrochemical industry, heating installations and for exhaust systems of combustion engines. Lubrication during assembly (not suitable for rolling bearings). Simple lubrication points, such as bolts, sliding blocks, foundry ladles, slideways at high temperatures.

Method of application

Clean the screws, apply GLEITMO 165 to the thread root and the contact surface of the screw head without excess using a paint brush or spray on. Also available as GLEITMO 165 SPRAY and in brush-in-cap cans.
