FUCHS opens state-of-the-art plant in Beresfield, Australia

FUCHS PETROLUB SE, the world's largest independent manufacturer of high-quality lubricants and related products, is opening a new plant with a quality and research laboratory in Beresfield, Australia. The state-of-the-art facility, which was built over a period of 18 months, will replace the FUCHS plant in Wickham, Newcastle, which has been operating since 1979.

The new 25,000 m² plant will serve the mining, agricultural and transportation markets of Australia and New Zealand. High flexibility in product changeovers ensures a lower capital commitment and a faster response to customer requirements.

Stefan Fuchs, Chairman of the Executive Board of FUCHS PETROLUB SE, opened the plant in Beresfield on February 15, 2018, emphasizing the global strategy focused on customer proximity, which involves FUCHS investing in new facilities around the world. "Australia is a key market for FUCHS, which is why we have invested in the new plant in Beresfield," said Stefan Fuchs.

Wayne Hoiles, Managing Director of FUCHS Lubricants (Australasia), commented that in contrast to FUCHS' strategy, competitors are increasingly producing outside the market and employing an import strategy. "We need a local infrastructure that satisfies the needs of Australia and New Zealand. Therefore, we are investing locally to provide better service for our customers," added Hoiles.

The new plant meets highest quality, safety and environmental standards. It features a high degree of digitalization, automatic high-speed filling and corrosion-resistant piping and tanks. In addition, solar panels have been installed that generate up to 155 kilowatts of electricity and can cover more than 30 percent of the plant's electricity requirements.
